The Last Invasion
Chapter Thirteen
When Martin and Laura arrived back home that late afternoon, Martin told Laura that he simply must go study RV and immediately went into the back room to work on the next RV assignment. He would talk to her later about what had happened earlier.
It was assignment number three. He had already done one and two the night before after reading through and studying the protocols. Nothing like learning by doing, he thought. He was inwardly compelled to make rapid progress. RV was done in progressive stages starting with verbally stating the coordinates right before each stage.
The manual had explained that the blind coordinates are a randomly generated set of four numbers that are arbitrarily assigned to a target. The numbers don’t matter, only the fact that they are assigned to a specific target. The mere fact of assignment to a target connects those randomly generated numbers to the target and zeros in the RVer’s vector intention through those coordinates which are connected and related to the target. The connection is already extant in subspace as soon as the target and the numbers become consciously associated together. He had read that interconnectivity is the fact of the universal mind which is like a sub-quantum hologram. Each portion is connected to the whole information field or information cumulus as it was called. All you have to do is tune into any particular frequency you desire and your vector intention is focused in that particular direction. Thinking about something or someone directs you there. Understanding the energy patterns you find when you get there, brings real information to human consciousness.
When Rving blind, thinking and speaking the coordinates tunes the RVer into the correct frequency channel. The Rver becomes a biotuner when in the proper psycho-physiological state. RV is completely connected with the biology as well as the mind. All works together as one. The meditation and the singing helps it along but, of course, those are mechanical ways to get one on track to the proper attitude. There are other such mechanical manipulations, even technological methodology to facilitate the conscious interconnectivity.
The correct frequency is located simply because the RVer desires specific information such as what’s there, is it manmade or natural, a threat or whatever. This is how the four number coordinates facilitate tuning into the specific frequency of any given information field within the huge cosmic information mega-cumulus. It narrows down the mega-cosmic information cumulus to specific items within it.
At the end of every assignment was a blank page sealed over another page with a small sticker that was supposed to be removed and opened after each assignment. Hidden until after the assignment was done, underneath the blank page was a labeled photograph enabling the RVer to see the actual target he had been gnosing blind using only the coordinates to go by. That way he could self-check how accurate or inaccurate he had been. Martin really liked that. He would always know how he was progressing.
He had recorded the practice sessions on the little tape recorder and had been surprisingly accurate with the first two assignments. Number one had been Mt. Everest, number two, Lake Meade with Boulder Dam emptying its water through its huge electrical generators into the Colorado River.
On assignment number one with the various stages of drawing he had pretty well depicted a mountain with snow and ice on top, although he didn’t know it was Everest, and in assignment number two he had envisioned a lake with a man-made structure at one end which he was never able to specifically identify.
The initial squiggly line he had drawn had been a rolling wave which often depicts water. He kept getting high energetics but never figured out why. He had gotten in the ball-park but not been specific. This was normal according to the manual.
He wondered if the discrepancy was the fact that he was not particularly emotionally attached to either.
Now, on his third assignment he verbally stated the coordinates, 8247, and then started as usual with a simple very rapid spontaneous line drawn on paper without thinking. The rule was not to lift the pen off the paper but do the line very quickly. Just a fast squiggle with the pen which was done the instant he finished stating the coordinates.
During the various RV stages he would usually do this several times starting with very basic things such as topography, wet, dry, mountain, manmade etc. The line fell into various categories depending on the shape that came out. This one came out for the first time as a vertical straight line. As instructed, he pressed down with the point of the pen on the line and put down the first thought which he recognized. It was like a psyche button.
The manual had said that the very first thought was the one to notice because the mind had not yet gone to work on it, which often injected analytical overlay. He wrote something down each time he pressed the point of the pen down on the line he had drawn and then wrote the various one word thoughts into categorized columns such as colors, textures, temperature, energetics, shape, emotion or human presence, many people or few people. When he thought something was AOL, he put it in an entirely separate column. Mainly the AOL column was for things he had thought too much about.
In the various passes after verbally reiterating the coordinates, in the various columns he wrote manmade, steel, hot, glass, tall, flagpole, cars, commercial, busy, concrete, gray, tower, river, waterway and traffic.
He put dangerous, hectic, crime and flowers in the AOL column. When he came to sketching on stage three, he had pretty well envisioned a street scene with tall buildings in a city.
When he finished, he opened the target picture and was thrilled to see that it was downtown Chicago. Of course that was before the invasion, he thought, now it is just another smoking hole in the ground. This really made him feel sad. He looked carefully at the picture and compared it with the final picture he had drawn. He saw that a small flower garden was in the picture too which had been the item that he doubted the most and thought it just had to be AOL but he had drawn it into his sketch anyway. It wasn’t AOL. Even his other AOL choices had actually been part of that urban scene. He was amazed at how close he had come. Chicago must have been a very heavy vibe, and now its gone for good, he thought, I wasn’t emotionally attached to Chicago at all, until now. This photo must have been taken years ago. He hadn’t recognize the target specifically as Chicago but had gotten all of the old elements.
If he had spent longer on the assignment, he probably would have pinpointed it as Chicago. He missed the overhead trains in the picture but everything else was there. More time on this target probably would have revealed the elevated trains and that would have cinched it in his perception as Chicago.
He pulled out his pocket watch and it was 7:25P.M. He wanted to get over to Courtney’s house before it got too late and see what he had to say about the day’s happenings. He wondered if he was in any danger after today’s foolish and ultimately failed attack by the resistance. He hadn’t seen who had been involved but the one that had the disintegration rifle looked familiar and he thought he had seen him at Bill’s meeting. He didn‘t know who the two pistoleros were but was pretty sure they had been at the meeting too.
He put the practice tape in his coat pocket, kissed Laura goodbye and went out the door. On the way he hummed All The Things You Are. He was really happy at how fast he was making progress with RV. He was very sorry and upset about the casualties. It was horrible seeing people die right before his eyes, but an operation like that was a suicide mission from the beginning, there was no doubt about it. At the meeting, Bill certainly viewed it that way. Also, Martin was worried about serious consequences that might come from the attack but thought how lucky it was that no one was captured and tortured to reveal the other members of the resistance. At least, if anyone was arrested, he didn’t know about it. Such a quick resolution of those violent intentions may have saved us this time, he thought. Now, perhaps things can head in a more sane direction.
He knocked on Courtney’s door and Natalie let him in. “Courtney is in the kitchen and expecting you,” she said.
Their little boy was playing on the floor in the living room. “What is your boys name?” he asked. “Oh, that’s Timmy,” she smiled, “he has to go to work with me everyday. Usually one of the Cadres takes him and the other kids to a... day-school.”
“Hey Timmy, good to meet you. Are you having fun?”
The boy didn’t say anything but nodded shyly.
“Hi Martin,” said Courtney, “I figured you’d be by after today’s terrible fiasco.”
Martin sat down at the table. “I wanted to find out what you have to say about it.”
“I’m pretty sure we’re okay. Those three were killed so quickly that they had no time to reveal anything. There’s no doubt that the mole wants the resistance to continue, so nothing more will probably be done.”
“Why would the mole want the resistance to continue?”
“Because the mole is now going to be the leader of resistance.”
“What!? You gotta be kidding.”
“No. We are now sure that the mole is John. You know, the physicist? Bill wanted him to become the leader if he should be arrested or killed.”
“Yeah, I remember John. He and Bill seemed pretty tight.”
“He is working for the Reds, Martin. But... he may be a double agent.”
“Explain what that means.” “The RV team has been working on the matter and we think that John was not in favor of the attack but just had to go along with it so as not to look suspicious. He couldn’t openly oppose the attack. John is most likely not only working for the Reds but for someone else also.”
“The Americans?”
“No. We don’t think so. He is very connected with China. Something may be going on inside the Chinese government.”
“Like what?”
“Well, we aren’t sure but that’s what we’re working on next. And when you are ready we will put you on it too.”
“Courtney, I have completed three of the assignments and here’s the tape of my practice sessions for your review.”
Martin dug in his pocket and handed the tape to Courtney who looked surprised. “Wow, Martin, you certainly work fast. How did the practice sessions go?”
“Well, I would say pretty good. With the third one I came just within a hairs breath of totally identifying the target, even though of all three I am the least emotionally connected with it.”
“You didn’t like Chicago?”
“Oh, I guess you are familiar with the manual.”
“I wrote it.”
“No wonder. I originally come from Texas, Courtney.”
Courtney laughed. “Well then, that tells me why you weren’t particularly attached to Chicago. You Texans are not especially... urban lovers, are you?”
“No we’re not. We like the wide-open spaces. But, I sure wish Chicago and all the other cities were still here.”
Courtney nodded gravely for a moment but then got on the upswing. “I am really proud of you for getting on this with such dedication right away. I tell you what Martin, due to the serious of the situation, I’m going to give you some blind coordinates to gnose. They will be connected with what I just told you; however, the coordinates represent a specific target unknown to you.”
“Wow, I fully accept the assignment and will do my very very best.”
“I know you will. Memorize the four numbers I’m going to give you. These coordinates will now be your assignment—your very first assignment with the underground. But continue to do the exercises in the manual. Don’t quit doing those, we all have to constantly hone our skills.”
“No kidding. And I am a complete novice. But I really have, what you might, call an aptitude for it.”
“I’ll say you do. Now, listen and repeat these four coordinate numbers to me three times. 4579.” Martin repeated the numbers three times and ingrained them into his head. “Thanks Courtney. I will tape the results and bring the tape right back to you, since I don’t know where the drop-off points are.”
“I will have to show you those but we are in such a hurry to find out about the target I just gave you, that it would be best for you to just bring the tape back over here after you’ve done a couple of passes. We are all going to stay right on this until we know exactly what’s happening.”
Martin repeated the numbers once again to himself. He was thrilled to be up and functioning in a useful way for the resistance and so soon.
“Now,” said Martin in a considerably more serious tone, “what do you think is going on?”
“What did you see today Martin?”
“I saw an absolutely incredible huge Red Star electrogravitic war-craft and then three members of the resistance try to attack the Reds and get killed almost immediately. The one with the disintegration-rifle looked familiar but I have no idea who the two pistoleros were.”
“They were Bill and Bruno. Samuel, who Bill called Sam, was the designated disintegrator who was so quickly disintegrated.”
“I sure didn’t know one of them was Bill. It happened so fast and when the Reds blew up their ammunition there was too much blood for any recognition on my part. I thought maybe Bill was the mole.”
“We had suspected that too for a time. But now we know, John is the one. He was even seen walking out of the government building on the Riverview town square. He has business going on with the Reds. What else did you see today?”
“Well, we had to line up for the buses to go back to work and we left the scene right away after the event.”
“I didn’t see you there in the huge crowd,” said Courtney. “My bus was delayed at the end and I saw two Chinese officials, in uniform come right out of that craft. It decended to about eight feet off the ground and a spiral stairway unfolded and... out came the two Cadres. ”
“How do you know they were Chinese government officials?”
“By the way they were received. There was much kowtowing going on and they do not behave like that for ordinary commanders or officers. These most likely came over directly from China and were high up officials.”
“I think the announcer said they were visitors from Peking. Why? Why do you suppose they were sent here to Riverview?”
“We highly suspect this isn’t the only place Chinese government officials are being sent. Perhaps something big is happening inside China.”
“What could it be?”
“That we don’t know and they certainly aren’t telling us. However, we will find out. We don’t know why but, for some reason Chinese government officials are now coming over from China and meeting the Red Commanders of the American occupation. We know that Riverview is certainly not the only place these officials are arriving because Riverview is only a suburb of Kansas City. Riverview wouldn’t qualify for a visit from such high-up officials unless there was something really big happening. There is something personal about these meetings because if there wasn’t, they could have just had the commanders all gather together in a central location, such as Kansas City or Levinworth. But this is being done on a personal level. We need to find out why that is.”
“How does Physicist John the Commie-mole fit in?”
“We don’t know that either.”
“We sure need to find out.”
“And we will. Martin, it’s getting close to curfew and we don’t have the time this evening, but if you come earlier tomorrow evening, I’ll show you a drop-off point where you can leave the tapes of your personal sessions concerning Grace and the group-home. You won’t always use the same drop-off point. There are three and you will rotate and I’ll just show them to you one at a time until you know exactly where all three are located and how to use them. Things have changed since last night. I originally thought we would have more time and would put the other three remote viewers on your personal issue by having them gnose it blind through coordinates--but they are very good Rvers—so, I will let you front load them with your own personal session about the group-home. The other remote-viewers said they really want to help you out. I had the rare opportunity to talk briefly to all three of them today and informed them that you would be joining us, but did not give them your name of course. I look forward to the day that we can all meet together.”
“Okay, Courtney, you have my practice tape and I know what I need to do. I will be back earlier tomorrow evening. Meantime, God bless you and please be careful. Oh, by the way, how did it go dealing with the cyanide pills?”
“Worked fine. I did the chemical processes with the bleach and lye and set it out for 24 hours after you left. I will check on it tonight before the curfew begins. So, you’d better get going.”
“Okay, see you tomorrow evening.”
Walking home, Martin still had questions he needed answers to. What were the Red Chinese trying to do by allowing the resistance to exist and even having their own man in charge of it? Are they just trying to eventually round up as many people as possible who become involved? That doesn’t make a whole lot of sense. Is it just to keep tabs on their opponents so they can manipulate them and not let anything that could damage them be carried out? That sounds more reasonable and in fact was probably the case in today’s attack. However, they could have prevented the entire attack simply by arresting everyone ahead of time. They must have known it was coming since John knew everything. Where did they get that disintegration weapon in the first place? Did they acquire it through John? That seems far fetched.
Martin also wondered how that Red Star could spin like that. It must be like living inside an airplane propeller. I guess the electrogravitic field around the ship makes it so that the crew doesn’t notice the spinning. It must be a damn powerful field. But how do they know where they’re going? He would have to ask Courtney about that one next time. There’s probably some scientific explanation.
When he arrived back home, he talked to Laura for a little while, meditated for 20 minutes and then went off to bed and a completely dreamless sleep.
