The Last Invasion
Chapter Sixteen
In the early afternoon of the third day after being cooped up in his living room, Martin was beginning to get cabin fever so bad he had begun pacing back and forth, so he left Laura to go over to Courtney’s. At last the sun was out and he could see that the ice and snow was beginning to melt. When he arrived he tapped on the door and Natalie answered.
“Hello Natalie, is Courtney available?”
“He’s not here Martin. He just left to walk somewhere. You just missed him.”
“This is real important. Did he say where he was going?”
“No, I’m sorry.”
“It’s okay. Tell him I dropped by okay?”
“I’ll be glad to. I really have no idea how long he plans to be gone. Isn’t it nice to have these days off?”
“Sure is.”
“Was it hard getting through all that snow to walk over here?”
“Not too bad. The other night when the storm began I slipped and fell on the ice but I’m doing much better now.”
“Oh, that’s too bad that you slipped. Glad you are feeling better.”
“Well then, I will walk on home and see Courtney later.”
“Okay.”
Martin began walking back home. Where had Courtney gone? No way to tell. He wondered about Bill’s house. Now that Bill’s gone, would the Chinese Reds find that tunnel in his sub-basement? On a lark, he decided to walk by Bill’s on the way back home. He sludged through the snow but it wasn’t hard going, just a little tiring. He turned onto Bill’s street. As he approached the house, he was quite surprised to see Courtney just going inside Bill’s house. Someone was letting him in. He wondered who might be there and if he should knock. What are they doing in Bill’s house? Then, in a moment of courage, he decided to take a chance and just do it. He knocked on the door twice and John opened the door.
“Oh, hi John. I was walking home from Courtney’s and saw him go in the door. Why are you here? What’s happening?”
“Come inside,” he said, “we will still be using this house for our meetings.”
Martin was surprised to see Courtney and four other members of the resistance sitting in the living room.
“Hi Martin,” said Courtney, “good to see you, sit down. We are having a rather spontaneous unplanned meeting. I don’t know why you came over here, but I’m gald you did... must be a little telepathy going on. You may not remember everyone’s names. That’s Peter, Pierre, Tom and Jack,” he said as he pointed to each. “Jonas was apparently too scared to come after seeing what happened to Sam and the other two.”
“Yeah? That scared the hell out of me too. I don’t know why I’m here nor why anyone is here after that mess. But, I saw you go in and thought something must be up. I guess I just wanted to find out what the hell it was.”
“Well,” said John, “you came to the right place.”
“Hi Martin,” said Tom. Everyone nodded and said hi.
Martin took a seat and John began talking. “Martin, I was just telling the guys that things are really changing rapidly. I talked to two Chinese high officials, under orders from Chairman Wu, that arrived on the Red Star craft from Peking the day of the attack and I got some vital information that we all need to know. I was just starting to tell them about it when you arrived.”
“Two high officials direct from China? What’s going on? What does that mean?” Martin was anxious to get some answers. “Why are you talking to them?”
John nodded. “It means that a very big change is occurring in the Chinese government. Not everyone over there agrees with this Red Star group that has destroyed and now occupied America.”
“Oh really?” said Peter.
“That sounds good for us.” Pierre and the others were all ears.
“Now, what I am about to tell you must, and I emphasize must, be kept under your hat. Does everyone agree to absolutely not talk about this to anyone, even your wives?”
Everyone agreed.
“Okay. If this gets out too soon, there will be big problems. It’s going to come out but it has to be in the right timing to not cause some major problems. Understood?”
Everyone agreed again.
“Okay. Gentlemen, for a long time I have been in contact with a group in China that is opposed to this Chinese militaristic campaign. These dissidents represent the University students of China and indeed the sentiments of the vast majority of the Chinese people. The Red Star People’s Liberation Army have been under the control of the old guard hard-liners that go clear back to Mao and the people of China have become very disgusted with them. During the past decades the militarists secretly developed the high technology that we here in America are now so familiar with being on the receiving end of it. Yes, we now have been fully enslaved by their surprise attack using this completely overwhelming technology. The other group, in my belief, is the real People’s Liberation. Chairman Wu is now going to resign and step down.”
“What?” said Peter, “that’s a surprise.”
The one taking his place is named Zhang Xiaodi. He is 35 years old and has been involved in the student liberation movements in China for several years.”
“John?” asked Peter, “why is this happening?”
“This is amazing,” said Tom.
“Guys, this is happening because of the technology itself. A young woman named Su Yi from Peking, one of the two representatives I just talked with, told me that she and her team of micro-biologist discovered that the beam weapons poison all those who use them.”
“Poison the users? How’s that?” Everyone was on the edge of their seat as Jack blurted the question.
“Every time one of those is fired, there is an almost undetectable energetic back-wash that bathes the user. Su Yi and her team found out that it causes irreparable damage to the human brain stem and the result is death. And... there is absolutely no present help for it.”
“So, all the soldiers are doomed to die from destroying America and murdering her citizens? You mean everyone that ever fired those weapons is sure to die?” Courtney wanted to be sure he understood.
“That’s right,” said John. “Everyone. Even if they fired a beam weapon only one time, the deadly energetic backwash gets them. But, the Red Chinese soldiers practice twice a week on the firing ranges with those weapons.”
Every hair was standing straight up on Martin’s body. He saw it. He already knew it but hadn’t known the exact reason for the deaths. Now he did. He didn’t say anything only marveled. He could hardly wait to tell Courtney about his dream.
“Incredible,” said Jack, “what does this mean for us? What will we do now? What’s going to happen?”
“What it means,” said John, “is that the invasion is finished for good. It means that from here on out the Red Stars are defeated and must go back to China. Now, we must keep this secret because if everyone knows about it, there might be terrible retribution in the departure. We have to just let them wind down and do what they are being ordered to do.”
“Well. I haven’t seen any of them dying. Are you sure this is accurate?”
“Yes it is Pierre. Death occurs a year or so after only one exposure. The person who has been poisoned suddenly gets very sick, goes into a coma and within twenty four hours is dead. So, the Red Chinese in America are going to start dropping like flies. They will be ordered back to China before this starts to happen and this will be soon. The Chinese don’t want them dropping dead here in America. Such a loss of face is entirely abhorrent to them, even the ones who opposed the invasion. It would be unacceptably embarrassing. Also, the new incoming regime wants to allow the soldiers to see their families before they die. But, the regular troops will not be told the whole story immediately in order to prevent chaos. The occupation is now going to quickly wind down due to orders direct from Chairman Wu.”
“But... they have completely destroyed our infrastructure. What are we going to do?” asked Tom.
“Tom, the new regime never agreed with these despots and have secretly opposed them all along but were kept suppressed due to the power of the Chinese Military/Industrial organization. Everyone was walking a political tight rope in the power-play. It went on for so many decades that it had almost become a Chinese tradition ever since Communism and the Cultural Revolution got a grip on that country. It was a conflict of philosophies between the moderates, who were demanding more freedom and human rights, and the old-school hard-liners from the era of Mao who controlled the military.”
“As soon as those calling for liberty and human rights became too vocal, the hard-liners always came down with brutal force,” said Courtney.
“Yes, and the U.S. kept a finger on that pulse, always calling for more human rights. Now, in the new regime, replacing Chairman Wu, there is a feeling of genuine sorrow and grief over what has happened. And, it’s a very strong feeling. And here’s the completely stunning thing--they are going to give us all their high technology, except for the beam weapons. Those are to be dismantled and destroyed under international oversight including American oversight who will be at the forefront of it. The nano-technology in those weapons will be saved for other applications and you can be sure that any beam devices used in peaceful technology will now be properly shielded. They have certainly learned their lesson about that.”
“Was it entirely due to improper shielding of those beam weapons that caused the problem?” asked Jack.
“Yes it was. They found out that the proper shielding could have been done very easily but, by the time they found out... it was already too late. But if they’d done that simple shielding, we’d still be in the same boat. This was sheer luck for us.”
Martin shook his head with amazement. “They were just too anxious to carry out their destruction and take-over of America.”
“The Chinese of the new regime are already in alliance with some of us, including the American Chinese and the small remaining remnant of the U.S. government, including President Obama who survived. The Chinese are now going to give us (as well as the rest of the world) their technologies of atomic cold-fusion as well as the simpler technology of splitting water to make hydroxy gas, and also the permanent magnet motors that we have already been using on the farms and gardens trying to get food production up and going. Also, they will be leaving the excellent portable greenhouses that we’ve all been building. With the very simple water splitting technology, existing gasoline motors can now be retrofitted to run on water, so the lack of a petroleum infrastructure won’t keep us crippled forever. However, it will take some time to get all this new technology up and running. So, we have a lot of work to do. Plus they are sending thousands of advisors to help us get back on our feet. The new regime feels it is the least they can do. This is big fellows. Probably the biggest thing that has ever happened in history.”
“That’s for sure,” said Pierre.
Everyone was so stunned and taken aback they just sat staring for a few moments while trying to let it all sink in.
“What does this mean for the American resistance?” Martin asked.
“It means we won without doing much,” said John. Somehow the natural order of things did it for us. Poor Bill, Bruno and Sam are dead because they just couldn’t wait to get it on. They would have been able to rejoice with us over this. But they had given up hope.”
“Yes,” said Courtney, and this is so fantastic who would have ever believed such a thing could occur? Never in our wildest guesses. That’s the last thing we would have thought of. We were all so intimidated by those beam weapons, I suppose, we just assumed that the Reds knew what they were doing. They didn’t. Talk about a surprise!”
“So, when will the Chinese Reds find out that they are about to die?” asked Pierre.
“It will be broken to them slowly so as not to cause excessive suicides or chaos. There are no symptom to this pathological breakdown until the very end and we expect many will start dying very soon now because with their training in China it has been almost a year since the beam weapons became operational. The timing of the deaths will vary and those who used them the most will die first. They will be treated in hospitals, being set up for this right now, under the cover of a virus outbreak. There will most likely be some suicides and chaos when the Red troops finally discover that there is no cure. Some will probably figure it out themselves. But, that knowledge will not be officially given to them until at the very end of their lives and on an individual basis. That’s why we are all to maintain absolute secrecy about this. Do not tell anyone. And that includes your wives. You should all be able to understand the dire consequences if we leak this information. If you hear about it from someone, just tell them it is total disinformation and not true. This must be kept under wraps. No one is to know. We are being told because we are the rag-tag disorganized resistance.”
“You can say that again,” said Peter.
John chuckled along with everybody, “Once is enough, Peter. Our job now is to spread hope but not tell why. The Red Star troops will simply be ordered back to China as quickly as possible. And, in the meantime they will be ordered to just wind things down. To cease and desist. You can understand why the Chinese authorities can’t just tell them all at once. It would cause chaos.”
“It’s kind of a heavy burden to carry but we can do it,” said Peter.
“Yes we can,” Jack agreed, “and we can sure spread the hope that things will improve and the proof will be in the pudding.”
“So, these two representatives of the new regime came over to inform the local Commander?” Courtney asked.
“Yes, that’s right. Thousands of these representatives are coming in to do that everywhere.”
“Well, I imagine the Commanders will not only be disappointed but horrified,” said Martin.
“Our local Red Star Commander, Hsu-Feng Chou nearly went bonkers and didn’t believe it until he phoned Chairman Wu. Now he knows he must accept it regardless. Chairman Wu is just turning over things to Xiaodi but working with him for the transition. I think these despots are realizing for the first time in their lives that might does not make right. Their whole philosophy is being exposed as fraudulent.”
“There will be some real soul searching going on,” said Pierre.
“No doubt,” said John.
“What can we tell our wives and others about this?” asked Martin.
“You can just say that a new regime is now in place in China and the old militarists are being ordered to stand down. That’s all you really need to say. What is happening will become obvious to all. Some media will be back up soon and they will spin it no doubt. Your wives will be happier then, hearing it from somewhere other than their husbands.”
Everyone smiled and chuckled. “The regime change in China is the cover story for this. Nothing will be mentioned about the poisoning.”
“How soon, John?” asked Tom.
“First, they are going to turn on all the utilities and that will immmediately relieve everyone. Everyone’s work will continue because it is absolutely necessary that food production is carried out. Without this, we will starve because commerce has almost ceased in our destroyed infrastructure. The Red Stars are already giving us some government assistance as you all know, but it is meager to say the least. Only staples to keep us alive.”
“I know one thing,” said Courtney, “for us who have this information we will work with much more fervor and cheer and that in itself will encourage everyone.”
“Absolutely right,” said John, “and that is exactly what the resistance should do. Encourage everyone. Bring hope in the midst of this hopelessness. Even an atheist like me can see the benefit of this. The rest of you can praise God. I will thank my lucky stars.”
Everyone laughed. It was so good to laugh. All this was unbelievable relief and sparked everyone’s enthusiasm.
Martin was determined to continue the RV and get really good at it. He already had unbelievable success and was dying to talk with Courtney. He was determined to go with Courtney back to his house after this meeting was over. Then Martin thought about Grace and the group-home. “Hey, listen John, the folks at the group-home I work for have apparently been hiding in their basement very afraid that the Reds would find them and disintegrate them. I think they are sick from drinking bad water. What can we do?”
“We can get a medical team over there to them and find out their status and will now be able to hospitalize anyone who needs it. Here, write down their address. I will get on that as soon as this snow and ice subsides a little more and we can move around. The two representatives from Peking told me that anything I might need I could have. I will personally help out with your situation and do it as soon as possible.”
“Oh, John, thank you so much,” said Martin, “I can hardly wait to get some news about them.”
“I will keep you informed. And, oh, by the way guys, we don‘t have to sneak around anymore but can meet and do what we can to help out this transition completely in the open. The only thing secret now is you know what. Sorry to keep emphasizing this again and again but it is very important.”
“It’s okay John, we understand,” said Pierre.
“I think you do. The general opening up of everything will make it easier for all of us to keep quiet about the fact that these Red Star’s are soon to die.”
“I think you’re right,” said Courtney, “wow, this is going to change everything!”
“It sure is, John” said, Martin, “it sure is.”
Everyone was very excited. They continued to talk for a while longer. Jack was the first to leave. He said he wanted to get the good news back to his wife and kids. Soon after that Pierre left and then Peter and Tom. Courtney, John and Martin remained.
“It’s getting cold in here and the fire is burning down,” said John, “I’m going out back to split some more wood. You guys can stay here and talk until I come back if you want.”
“That’ll be fine,” said Courtney, “we have some Remote Viewing matters to discuss.”
As soon as John left, Martin could restrain himself no longer. “Courtney, I have the tape of my RV sessions right here.” He reached inside his coat pocket to get the tape but his pocket was empty. He quickly checked his other pockets and the tape was no where to be found. “Oh, it’s not here. It must’ve fallen out of my pocket when I slipped on the ice a couple of days ago. No, I have used it since then. Wow, where could it be?”
Courtney reached inside his own coat pocket and pulled out the tape. “Here it is Martin. Don’t you remember. You already gave it to me?”
“What!? That was in my dream! I... I..."
“Don’t understand? Science is just now starting to. This use to be entirely in the realm of magic and the supernatural. Yes, this is your tape. It has your practice sessions on it. It has your excellent work on 4579 on it... and it even has your dream dictated onto it... by you.”
“Oh my God, Courtney... tell me I’m not going crazy.”
“You’re not going crazy, Martin. A powerful phenomena has occurred. Reality was... visibly adjusted. The timeline was observationally changed.”
“How... how could that be?”
“Well... how that could be is what the new cutting edge sub-quantum physics is now rapidly discovering. When Remote Viewing became the subject of scientific investigation, starting in the 1970s, a whole lot changed. But nothing like this. Our notions about how the universe operates only barely started to evolve back then. Our understanding of what we call ‘reality’ was teetering on the brink of change. Drastic change. But... from now on, this will now be one of the most important endeavors of scientific investigation... and by this incident, which is recorded live right on this tape, this investigation just took a great leap forward. What had been theory up until now... is now proven experimentally by what just occurred. Now, scientist will try to repeat the experiment.”
“Oh my God. Chills are running up and down my spine, Courtney, as if I just grabbed a live wire.”
Courtney held up the little tape and examined it carefully. “This is a gateway breakthrough in the entire history of science and like all such breakthroughs, it was... an unwitting accident.”
“And it happened to us.”
“Yes, it did and many others are going to be very interested in the details. Every detail. So, get ready for a long and precise examination that may go on for the rest of your life and mine. They will probably want to do very sophisticated lie detection techniques on both of us to be sure we didn’t make this up.”
“I’m absolutely stunned... floored... awed and what else can I say?”
“Thrilled?”
“Yeah, that too. My mind cannot get around this at all.”
“Not surprising, neither can mine but I have a little background in the new physics. Not near what is necessary to develop a scientific theory as to what actually took place.”
“How about John? He’s a physicist. Who are you going to let in on this?”
“Whoever is interested and whoever might have some clues as to what happened here. Anyone who believes this is possible is a candidate to work on it. There is no doubt that this will eventually involve the most astute and brilliant minds on the planet.”
“Well, I’ll let you tell John, I am absolutely too shocked.”
“Okay. I think I should probably be the one to tell John. John is a traditional physicist as far as I know. He will probably scoff at it... at least at first. It is hard to believe, I’ll admit. But it happened and we are two eye-witnesses, in fact, the direct participants. Someone will probably accuse us of perpetrating a hoax, but that is to be expected, so get ready for that.”
